UN METEORITO PARA LA SOCIEDAD CIENTIFICA ARGENTINA DEL 2105

At the end of 2015, Faivovich & Goldberg (F & G) were invited to visit the Argentine Scientific Society (SCA) to propose a project. Months later, during a meeting with the owner of a meteorite, they decide to draw a line between the two points and suggest they donate the rock to the SCA. The collector accepted the proposal and gave them the rock, under the sole condition of protecting his anonymity, thus formally constituting them as agents to dispose of the fate of the meteorite according to their best understanding. Even when the SCA showed interest in the meteorite, it never agreed to the terms proposed by the artists and the transference of the specimen was suspended.

On May 25, Faivovich & Goldberg will present Un meteorito para la Sociedad Científica Argentina del año 2105, for which they will assemble a time capsule that will preserve the meteorite inside, setting July 9 of the year 2105 as the date on which the institution may choose again for the incorporation of the specimen to its collection. The ceremonial act will be open to the public, inviting viewers to contemplate on the causes and effects of time, thus transcending human, legal, social and cultural events. Seeking in the future that which does not find its place in the present, a bona fides to the future, a probe in the direction of the twenty-first century.
